Transparent Moment: Brave

This song gave me the inspiration for the title and topic of this blog post. It gets me through those days when I need a little bit of extra help.

I usually post about food or makeup or fashion, but this post is going to be a little different.  I started this blog because I wanted to share some of the things that I was passionate about with people. My goal was to inspire women to pursue their dreams, no matter how big or how daunting they seemed.  I want to help them look and feel their best, whether it be makeup or fixing their closets and organizing their lives to finding that perfect outfit.

Well, it has not been the easiest thing to do. It has been a challenge every step of the way. There are thousands of bloggers out there (literally thousands) and they all post about the same things.  Some of them have hundreds of subscribers and thousands of followers on social media networks.  They have big budgets, which means they can afford to pay photographers to have the best photos on their sites.  They are wearing all of the latest styles from the top designers in the world.   Then, there is  visiting other blog sites to put yourself out there so people will know you exist. There’s being active on social media everyday so that you keep some sort of presence. Learning how to drive traffic and visitors to your site and keep them engaged longer than 30 seconds.  Not to mention, being motivated to write and create content that people actually want to read.  It’s a lot guys. It’s like being lost in a sea blogs and bloggers and you’re just trying to get above water.  I have felt a little in over my head since I started this.

The funny thing is, with all of these challenges I know I am right where I am supposed to be.  I believe this is something God told me to do and I know that He is with me through everything.  Doing this blog has made me have to trust and rely on Him.  It’s made me depend on His grace and His ability in times when I don’t feel good enough.  He has shown me that with Him I can face any challenge that comes at me.  He is the reason I am good enough, He is the reason I am strong enough! He gives me the courage to face this giant and as long as I keep my eyes on Him I can do Anything! Even walk on water! If anyone reading this is facing anything that seems like its beyond the scope of your ability,  you don’t have to face it alone.  God is there to be your strength, your friend and your guide.  He loves you and He wants you to succeed.  Don’t try to do life without Him, because the truth is we were never meant to.

I would love to hear from you guys.  Let me know some of the things you are dealing or have dealt with.  We can share our stories and our victories with each other.  It helps to know that you’re not alone when things are difficult.

Kisses,

Shaunte’

Great post Shaunte! As a small business owner I can definitely relate. You are not alone and small beginnings make for BIG AND AMAZING endings. We all have to start somewhere and as long as you keep pursuing your passion, that passion will be begin to make room for you and soon everyone will know about FASHIONATE 31. Keep pushing, keep blogging and keep posting! Love ya!

Awesome post!! I have definitely found myself in moments where I start looking at what appear to be my personal limitations. What God reminds me of are the times when I’ve had the most spectacular outcomes!!…Those times were ALL Him!! The times it made no natural sense at all, but He caused great things to take place! He reminds me that He will get His Glory!!

Love this blog site!!! Keep going!!!!!!

Awesome post! Love the transparency! I can absolutely relate. For example I thought I’d never graduate college and here I am on my last semester at Regent. Its been quite a journey- practically eleven years of ups and downs! My biggest fear was being too old to appreciate what I worked so hard for. After talking to a few really good friends I realize that being great is not about how fast you finish but NOT QUITTING! So many people quit right before they hit the finished mark because theyve compared their lives to others! This time I refuse to quit. I cant wait to testify!!! I WILL FINISH! I WIN!!! Love, Simonee
